demon vacuum claims 2013 halloween body-building championship

On Halloween we held a competition. The brainchild of John Archer, two classes – John’s Introduction to Sculpture and Allen Topolski’s Advanced Drawing – and involved a timed session of making bodies from found materials and one roll of tape. These bodies were deep representations of the spirits that drifted close to our waking world on Halloween.

Students were given 30 minutes to scavenge supplies and one hour to sculpt, draw, and create a story about their body. They then performed their story illustrating how their sculpture/drawing embodies their chosen Halloween spirit.

Faculty and Staff judged the event.

The winning team received a custom wrestling belt. a $25 gift certificate to (Hulk) Hogan’s Hideaway, and 6 day-glow orange gourds.
