Artists Scott Pellnat and Allen C. Topolski, whose work is currently on display in the Stedman Gallery as part of the exhibit (re)collecting, (re)constructing, will participate in a roundtable lecture on Thursday, October 17th, at 5 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre – Room 136 in the Fine Arts Building, 314 Linden Street on Rutgers Camden campus.
The lecture will be moderated by Dr. Cyril Reade, Associate Professor of Art and Director of the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts. – Rutgers
“It helps to think of them as sculptors — I think they would think of themselves as sculptors — and when most people think of sculptures, they think of a precious object on a pedestal,” said Cyril Reade, director of the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts. “Here, using found or transformed objects, they’re abandoning the idea of the precious object.” – Jason Laday
