Unboarding The Americas: A Migration Film Festival (Free Tickets)

The University of Rochester's Mellon Sawyer Seminar Series is pleased to offer all UR undergraduate and graduate students free tickets to the "Unbordering the Americas" Film Festival at the Dryden Theatre, George Eastman Museum, February 24 to 26. Featuring an array of acclaimed recent films—from fiction to documentary to experimental essay— “Unbordering the Americas” centers on the memories, dreams, and everyday lives of Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ peoples moving toward and throughout the Americas. The three-day festival is part of the University of Rochester’s Mellon Sawyer Seminar series “Unbordering Migration in the Americas,” a year-long interdisciplinary examination of the causes, experiences, and identities of migration in the hemisphere. All audience members must show proof of COVID vaccination (regardless of age), photo ID, and wear masks. **Free student tickets available up to 10 minutes before each film screening at the student sign up table at the Theatre entrance. Click here for full details of each film screening. See the Orange Line free university shuttle schedule for weekday and weekend service between Rush Rhees Library and the George Eastman Museum (East & Barrington stop).
