Art New York 2022 Exhibition at Frontispace

Frontispace is pleased to announce an exhibition of work created by UR students who participated in the Art New York Program in the spring of 2022. The exhibition represents the culmination of the time the students spent living, working, studying, and producing art in New York City. Spanning a variety of media, the works on view utilize the resources of New York City as a starting point for creative production and explore both personal and collective ideas. Art New York is an internship program at the University of Rochester that is offered to all qualified sophomore, junior, and senior students from any area of study who are interested in learning about how art gets made, how it reaches the public, and the process of its interpretation and display. Students have the opportunity to explore New York’s rich and varied cultural life while pursuing a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience. The spring 2022 participants in the Art New York Program were Vanessa Acevedo, Angelica Aranda, Tianying Chen, Nathan Cobbs, Mya Fisher, Krithi Krishna, Anna Lussier, Bobby Marcinauskis, Loki Su, Mahlet Tedla, and Yufei Zhu, under the leadership of the Director, Heather Layton, and the Program Manager, Megan Metté. The exhibition runs September 2 thru October 5, 2022 with a reception for the students on September 8, from 5pm to 7pm. Frontispace is at the entrance to the Art and Music Library on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library at the University of Rochester. Gallery hours are the same as the Art and Music Library.
