Art New York 2023 Exhibition @ Frontispace

Art New York 2023 Exhibition

Frontispace is pleased to announce an exhibition of work created by UR students who participated in the Art New York Program in the spring of 2023. The exhibition represents the culmination of the time the students spent living, working, studying, and producing art in New York City. Spanning a variety of media, the works on view utilize the resources of New York City as a starting point for creative production and explore both personal and collective ideas.

Art New York is an internship program at the University of Rochester that is offered to all qualified sophomore, junior, and senior students from any area of study who are interested in learning about how art gets made, how it reaches the public, and the process of its interpretation and display. Students have the opportunity to explore New York’s rich and varied cultural life while pursuing a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience.

The spring 2023 participants in the Art New York Program were Sandra Cornejo, Bonnie Hartman, Seana Lanias, Thu Le, Xiwen Nancy Li, Yifei Liu, Zitao Dylan Liu, Teri Newman, Jessica Oh, Dara Rozen, Vivian Jiawei Wu, and Renyi Zhang, under the leadership of Heather Layton and Megan Metté.

The exhibition runs September 8 - October 11, 2023 with a reception for the students on October 5, from 4pm to 6pm.

Frontispace is at the entrance to the Art and Music Library on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library at the University of Rochester. Gallery hours are the same as the Art and Music Library.
