September 20th, 3:55pm - 5:45pm, Red Line Bus/Eastman Come join us for a trip downtown to tour the beautiful Eastman School of Music and learn about what it has to offer to UR students! Together, we will explore the historic venues, listen in on an ensemble rehearsal, look at the Sibley Music Library massive collection, and discuss how to get tickets to free and discounted concerts. At the end of our exploration, students are free to hang around to attend the Rochester Fringe Festival. Space is limited, so students should register on Handshake.

Humanities for Life Summer Internship Symposium

Humanities for Life Summer Internship Symposium September 3rd, 6:00pm - 8:30pm, Humanities Center Students who successfully completed the 2019 Humanities for Life Summer internship will be giving short presentations about their experiences. Presentations are start at 6:00pm and the networking reception begins at 7:30pm. If you know of a student interested in applying to this program, we highly recommend they attend to learn more!

Attention first-years and sophomores! Course offering: Design Your Life (+Career)

Have a first-year or sophomore student who is trying to figure out their career path? This dynamic, seven-week course applies a design-thinking framework and mindset to career exploration and development. Through self-reflection, readings, discussion and in-class activities, students will be able to architect their experiences at Rochester and beyond, and be better equipped to navigate academic, career and life decisions. This course is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Frontispace is pleased to announce an exhibition of work by local artists Stephanie Ashenfelder and Amos Scully. The husband and wife team are the inaugural participants in the Frontispace Residency, a new initiative of the University of Rochester Art and Art History Department to support the development of new work by regional artists. The exhibition, titled A Sudden Malfunction, concludes their summer residency and marks the first event in the newly renamed Frontispace, formerly the Gallery at the Art and Music Library. OLEDworks is looking for high quality photographs for their social media campaign which will run on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, providing an opportunity for aspiring photographers to reach a broader audience. They are specifically looking for photographs that emphasize natural light. A figure with light shining through a window, light coming through stained glass in a church, the sun reflecting off of the ripples of water. Whatever inspires you!
